“HISHIGEN TATAMI” was founded in 1919, became a limited partnership company during the Showa era, and took the name “HISHIGEN TATAMI Co., Ltd.” in 2016, passing down valuable traditional craftsmanship and striving to pass on the tatami culture to the next generation. We are proud to have achieved 100 years of business as of 2019, and truly thankful to our customers and all who have supported us for all these years.
Tatami mats are versatile, creating suitable and comfortable spaces for greeting guests, for the family to relax together, for Japan’s hot summers and cold winters, for sitting or for laying down, and for people of all ages. We at HISHIGEN TATAMI put together each mat with all our hearts because we want to put smiles on the faces of the people they will accommodate.
